June 8, 2017
Dear Park School Families,
This letter is my last for the 2016-2017 school year. What an incredible year this has been. Your children have learned so much and are ready for the next grade level. I have enjoyed being a part of this beautiful school community and am looking forward to next year already. Some of the students have asked me if I am coming back next year and I reply, “Of course, there is nowhere else I would rather be!”
Great job Park Panthers for raising over $5,000 at the Walk-A-Jog! Congratulations to Mrs. Houston’s and Mrs. Alvarado’s classes for raising the most money in sponsorships. Surprisingly, they tied and both classes earned an ice cream treat from PTA. Thank you all for your continued support. Next year, all students will have the opportunity to attend two field trips with the buses being paid for by the PTA! That’s fantastic news!
Monday morning the San Mateo Public Library is coming to our school to encourage our students to participate in the summer reading program. It is a wonderful way for your children to go on many new adventures as they read books they are interested in. It is important to remember that children who don't read over the summer experience summer learning loss, and we can’t let that happen! I encourage you to sign up your child as soon as possible to get started.
Important Date to Remember:
* Wednesday, June 14th Last Day of School – minimum day
I hope you all have a wonderful summer spending time with your families and friends.
Mrs. Haley :)
Bear comes to read with our students as a part of the Share a Pet Pawsitive Reading Program. We are so lucky!
